Mass Effect 2 is a role-playing action game, developed by BioWare and published by Electronic Arts. It is available for play on a personal computer, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Game play takes place over multiple planets in an enormous Universe, with the story picking up where the first “Mass Effect” left off. Experiencing the game with no sound will cause you to miss the vast amount of dialogue, as well as the game’s soundtrack.

Check speaker connections. Verify that your speakers connect properly, and if they have independent volume controls, ensure that they are on. With the PC version, check the computer’s audio settings to verify speakers are not too low or muted. On the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions, ensure that your connections properly attach to the television. Double check the television volume to confirm it is not muted or too low.

Access the options menu. On the PC version, pushing the “Esc” key on your keyboard brings up the menu options. On the PS3 and Xbox 360 controllers, press the “Start” button on the controller to bring up the options menu.

Change the volume in the options menu. The in-game audio controls allow altering of the special effects, music and overall audio. Check that all controls are at adequate levels inside the software itself.

Inspect the game disc. Sediment or scratches alter the performance of the game. Remove sediment carefully with a microfiber disc cleaning cloth. Repair any scratches with a scratch repair kit for compact discs.
