Starcraft is the sequel to one of the best-selling strategy computer games of all time. Starcraft and Starcraft 2 were developed by Blizzard Entertainment, the company behind the venerable Warcraft and Diablo gaming franchises. While Starcraft and its expansion pack, Brood War, were both largely successful in 1998, Starcraft 2 did not appear on shelves until 2010. Starcraft 2 gameplay is similar to classic Starcraft, but some of the interface has changed. If you've never played Starcraft 2, you may not know how to quit the game.
Press the F10 key if you are currently playing a game. This brings up the in-game menu. If you're not playing an active StarCraft 2 game, skip to Step 3.
Click “Surrender.” During online gameplay or single-player skirmishes, you cannot quit an active StarCraft 2 game outright; you must surrender to return to the main menu. If you want to return to your single-player game at a later date, you can click “Save” from this menu before clicking “Surrender.” You are returned to the main StarCraft 2 screen when you surrender.
Click “Menu,” located in the lower left-hand corner on the main screen.
Click “Exit Game” from the “Menu” to completely close StarCraft 2.
