How to Get a Text History From AT&Tby Andrew ToddUpdated September 28, 2017
AT&T offers many services to their cellular telephone subscribers, including mobile Internet access, free calling on nights and weekends and text messaging. A record of every text message sent to and from every cellphone on your AT&T plan is kept on file with the company and included in your cellphone bill. If you would like to see who a particular cellphone user has been sending texts to or receiving texts from, you can look at your phone bill. If you do not have a physical copy of your phone bill handy, you can obtain it online from AT&T's website.
Open the phone bill of the billing cycle containing the text messages that you would like to view.
Log in to your AT&T account, if you do not have a physical copy of the bill containing the text messages you would like to view. Click on "Bills & Payments" from the navigational bar, and then click on "Bill History." Click on "View" beside the bill that you would like to view. Click on "View Full Bill" to view a copy of the bill that was mailed.
Locate the section labeled "Data Detail" with the telephone number on the line whose text messages you would like to view displayed in the top-right corner. All text messages sent and received from this line are displayed in this box and are identified by the Rate Code "MSG 7."
