How to Reset the Motorola SB5101 Modem

The Motorola SB5101 is a cable modem that allows you to connect to the Internet using an an Ethernet cable. It offers Internet access at more than 1,000 Kbps. If you are having trouble connecting to the Internet, resetting your cable modem might solve network connection problems. Resetting your cable modem is a quick process that takes minutes to complete.
Locate the "Reset" button on the back of your Motorola SB5101. It is inside a tiny hole with the word "Reset" above it.
Insert your pen or paper clip into the hole and push the "Reset" button for a few seconds.
Release the "Reset" button and observe the lights on the front panel. After a few minutes, the "Power," "Receive," "Send" and "Online" lights come on. The "PC/Activity" light flashes when the modem is transferring data.
