How to Get a 30 Day Trial of Xbox Live Gold

Xbox 360 gamers are separated into two tiers -- Silver and Gold. Gold members can play online, receive special discounts on downloadable games and use services such as Netflix for a monthly or yearly fee. Silver, or free, members do not have these options.. When you create a new account on your Xbox 360, you are given a free 30 day trial of Xbox Live Gold. Only the new account will have access to the 30 day trial.

Turn on the Xbox 360.

Select "Sign In."

Select "Create Profile."

Enter a name for your profile.

Select an avatar. You can customize the avatar in the following screen, selecting its facial features and clothing. Select "Save and Exit" when complete.

Select "Xbox Live" from the main menu. Select "Join Xbox Live for Free."

Select "Join Xbox Live."

Enter your personal information, such as your name and email address.

Select "I agree" to the Terms and Use.

Select your Gamertag. Your Xbox Live account will be activated and you will be given a free 30 day trial to Xbox Live Gold.
