How to Transfer Purchased Ringtones From iTunes

by KR Knowlin ; Updated September 28, 2017

The Apple iTunes store allows you to purchase and download ring tones for your iPhone. After you download the items you desire, use the application's sync feature to transfer purchased ring tones from iTunes to your iPhone. Once you transfer the tones, you'll be able to change your current default ring tone, or assign various tones to specific contacts in your phone book.

Connect the iPhone to your computer with the iPhone USB cable and iTunes will launch. Cancel the automatic sync if it attempts to occur.

Click on the iPhone under the "Devices" list in the left panel of the iTunes window. The iPhone Summary page will load to the screen.

Click the "Ringtones" tab at the top of the window. The Ringtones page will load.

Check the box next to "Sync Ringtones" at the top of the Ringtones page.

Click the option for "Selected Ringtones" under the Sync Ringtones heading.

Check the box next to each ring tone you want to transfer in the "Ringtones" section.

Click the "Sync" button at the bottom of the window to transfer the ring tones.
