Created by by Electronic Arts, Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth is a real time strategy game in which the player must take command of a vast army to battle Orks, Elves, Dwarfs and Humans in the Tolkien fantasy land of Middle Earth. Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth ships with a map editor, which allows you to create your own map to play in the game. The map editor, named World Builder, is not shown by default and appears nowhere in the regular installation. You must launch it from your profile folder.
Go to the “Start” menu, and select “Computer.”
Go to “C:” then “Users,” and select your user name.
Go to “AppData,” then “Roaming,” then “My Battle for Middle Earth Files.” Then go to “Maps.”
Double-click on “WorldBuilder.exe” to launch the map editor.
Go to “File,” and select “New.”
Create two starting positions to allow for you and at least one computer opponent to play on the map.
Create a balanced map, with resources distributed equally around the area.
Tips
Ideally, the map is mirrored, meaning that each player has the same layout for his base and immediate surrounding.
Warnings
You must send the map to friends if you want to have multiple players.
