The Guitar Hero series on Xbox 360 includes nine games with a whole host of songs to play along to with the wireless guitar controller. Since Guitar Hero World Tour, players have also been able to join in on drums and microphone. If you have problems using your wireless instruments with the game or with connecting the instruments to your Xbox 360, you can troubleshoot the problem to fix it.

Troubleshooting the Guitar Controller

Sync the guitar to the Xbox 360 console. Press the "Sync" button on the bottom of the guitar, then press the "Connect" button on the console. The four lights on the guitar should flash before stopping and leaving only one light showing.

Move any wireless devices (such as cordless phones or other wireless controllers) or large metal objects away from the Xbox 360 and repeat Step 1.

Disconnect the guitar by holding down the "Guide" button. Reconnect the guitar following Step 1 and restart your Xbox 360.

Ensure the batteries in the wireless guitar are charged.

Disconnect the guitar neck by pressing the lever on the back of the guitar, then reconnect it securely.

Contact Activision for a replacement guitar if all troubleshooting steps fail.

Troubleshooting the Drum Controller

Sync the drum controller to the Xbox 360 console. Turn on the drum controller by pressing the "Guide" button on the front of the drum kit. Press the "Connect" button on the console, then press the "Sync" button next to the battery compartment on the drum kit. The four lights on the drum kit panel should flash before stopping and leaving only one light showing.

Move any wireless devices (such as cordless phones or other wireless controllers) or large metal objects away from the Xbox 360 and repeat Step 1.

Ensure the drum pedal and cymbal cables are connected securely to the back of the drum kit.

Ensure the batteries in the drum kit are charged and working.

Contact Activision for a replacement drum kit if you cannot resolve the problem.

Troubleshooting the Wireless Microphone

Sync the microphone to your console. Press and hold the button on the bottom of the microphone until the lights begin to flash. Press and hold the button again until the lights flash quickly, then press the "Connect" button on your console. When the lights on the microphone stop flashing, the microphone is connected.

Move any wireless devices (such as cordless phones or other wireless controllers) or large metal objects away from the Xbox 360 and repeat Step 1.

Ensure the batteries in your microphone are charged and working. The lights on the microphone will flash amber if the batteries are low.

Contact Microsoft for a replacement if the problem is not resolved.
