The Wii is a gaming entertainment system that allows you to play video games that use a wireless guitar controller, such as Guitar Hero and Rock Band. The guitar controllers connect into the wireless Wii remote controller in order to connect to the Wii. If your Wii guitar is not working properly, you may need to re-sync your Wii remote controller and check that the batteries are working properly.
Turn on the Wii and open the SD card compartment on the front of the console.
Hold down the “Sync” button for 15 seconds to allow the console’s syncing functions to reset.
Replace used or outdated batteries in the Wii remote. If the remote does not have a proper charge, the Wii guitar will not work.
Press and release the “Sync” button on the Wii remote, located on the back of the remote in the battery compartment. The lights on the front of the remote will begin to flash.
Press the “Sync” button on the Wii console to complete the new sync. The lights on the remote will stop blinking once this is complete.
Insert the Wii remote securely into the Wii guitar controller. Depending on the type of guitar controller, the slot for the Wii remote may be on the front, back or bottom of the guitar controller.
Start the music game from the Wii’s main menu. With a newly synced Wii remote, the Wii console should now detect the Wii guitar.
