If you just purchased an iPad, you may be a little confused how to use it. If you have used an iPhone or iPod Touch (iTouch), you may find that you are familiar with how an iPad works, as it is similar, just larger. If you have never played around with an iPhone or iTouch, you may not know where to begin with the iPad. The first thing to know about the iPad is how to unlock it. Unlocking it only takes a few seconds and then you will be able to access all of your applications (apps).
Locate the “Home” button on the bottom center of the iPad’s screen.
Press the “Home” button one time. You will see the screen light up, the time appear at the top of the screen and a scroll bar on the bottom of the screen that reads “Slide to Unlock.”
Slide your finger from the left to the right along the scroll bar that reads “Slide to Unlock.” You will hear the iPad’s “unlocking” noise and your home screen will appear.
