Many PC gamers like to play games using a keyboard and mouse. Gamemakers put optional gamepad support into their games. F.E.A.R. is a shooter-horror hybrid from Vivendi Studios. To use its gamepad, map inputs to the gamepad's buttons and joysticks using the "Controls" menu.
Plug the gamepad into your computer's USB port. Open F.E.A.R.
Click "Options." Select "Controls."
Choose "Configure Joystick."
Click on the drop-down menus to map the X and Y axes to the left analog stick and the Z axis and rudder to the right stick.
Click "Options." Select "Controls."
Click "Configure Controls."
Choose an interaction from "Configure Controls." Press the button you wish to map it to. For example, click the "Fire" interaction and press the "Right Trigger" button to map fire to the right trigger.
Repeat Step 7 until all interactions are mapped.
Play the game using the gamepad.
