Items you will need

  • iTunes

  • Switch

  • dBpoweramp

  • Blank CD-R

You can fit 30 albums on one CD by burning the CD as a data disc. While burning a CD as an audio disc limits the CD to holding 80 minutes of music, burning a CD as a data disc allows you to burn up to 700 megabytes of data to the CD. Before attempting to fit 30 albums worth of music onto one CD, you first have to convert the music into a compressed audio format. This can be done with a free audio program, such as iTunes, Switch or dBpoweramp.

Using iTunes

Open iTunes, open iTunes preferences and click “Import Settings.”

Choose a compressed audio format from this menu, such as “MP3.” Then click “OK” to confirm the change and “OK” to exit the "Preferences" menu.

Drag the songs from the 30 albums you would like to fit on one CD into iTunes. Then highlight each song, click “Advanced” and select “Create MP3 Version.” After the conversion process is complete, an MP3 version of each song will appear below the original.

Insert a blank CD-R into your computer’s CD burner and select “Burn Files to Data Disc” from the pop-up window that appears.

Click “Mastered” as the CD’s formatting options and click “Next.” After doing so, an empty burn folder will appear.

Click the “Start” button and select “Music.” Double-click the iTunes folder and open the iTunes Music folder.

Highlight the songs you converted using iTunes and drag them into the burn folder you created.

Click “Burn to Disc” and the songs will be burned to the CD. You have now successfully fit 30 albums onto one CD.

Using Switch

Open Switch.

Click “Add Files” and choose the songs from the 30 albums you would like to fit on one CD.

Select a compressed audio format from the “Output Format” menu, such as “MP3.” Then click the “Browse” button to select an output folder for the converted files.

Click “Convert” and the songs from the 30 albums you would like to fit on one CD will be converted.

Insert a blank CD-R into your computer’s CD burner and select “Burn Files to Data Disc” from the pop-up window that appears.

Click “Mastered” as the CD’s formatting option and click “Next.” After doing so, an empty burn folder will appear.

Click the “Start” button and select “Computer.” Then use the Windows Explorer window to navigate to the output folder in which you saved the converted files.

Highlight the songs you converted from this folder and drag them into the burn folder you created.

Click “Burn to Disc” and the songs will be burned to the CD.
