How to Unblock a Blocked DISH Channel
By Jaime Swanson
Updated September 22, 2017
Dish Network's Adult Guard, or Parent System Lock, helps you keep undesired content away from you and your family. Adult Guard gives you the option of hiding adult channels from Dish's Electronic Program Guide. You can also restrict channels based on certain program ratings: R, NC-17, PG-13, violence, nudity -- or you can restrict certain channels. Once this system is activated, you will need a four-digit PIN that you create to access the blocked channels.
Access the main menu on your receiver, and go to "Locks"
Enter your PIN, if prompted.
Choose "Unlock System" and "Show Adult."
Flip through channels 489 through 499 to confirm the adult channels are no longer hidden.
Tips
Procedures may vary by receiver model. If you want more information on locks, go to Channel 480.
