How to Import Your Picture From a Samsung Phone

by Maya Walker ; Updated September 28, 2017

Most Samsung mobile phones are equipped with a built-in camera. The camera can be used to take images of various subjects including friends and family. You can import those images to your computer from the Samsung phone within minutes without downloading any special software. When you connect your phone to the computer, a copy of the picture is added to a selected folder on your computer. The original picture remains on the phone.

Connect your Samsung phone to a computer using a USB cable. Drivers for the phone will be automatically installed when the phone is connected. A notification message should appear in the lower-right corner of your computer screen when the installation is completed.

Click “Start” and select “My Computer” from the menu. Double-click the Samsung's icon to open its folder on the computer.

Select and open a folder on your computer in which to save the picture.

Select a picture from your phone's open folder to transfer to your computer. Drag the picture to the folder where it is going to be saved. Continue to drag and drop pictures in the folder until the last picture is transferred.

Exit the phone's folder on the computer and disconnect the Samsung phone from the computer.
