The best way to convert WMA to MP3 is by using Windows Media Player, which is a free audio software program that comes installed on all Windows computers. Because WMA (Windows Media Audio) is the proprietary audio format for Windows Media Player, you won’t have any problems when converting a WMA audio file to the MP3 format. However, because Windows Media Player does not offer a “Convert” feature, you will have to burn the WMA files you wish to convert to MP3 to a CD in order to convert them to MP3 by way of ripping the audio from the CD.
Open Windows Media Player and open the “Burn” tab.
Drag the WMA file or files you wish to convert to MP3 into the “Burn List” that is located on the right-hand side of the “Burn” tab.
Click “Start Burn.”
Insert a blank CD-R into your CD burner, and your WMA file or files will be burned onto the CD.
Click the “Rip Settings” button after the burn process is complete. Then choose “Format” and select “MP3.” Then click the “Rip CD” button. Doing so will cause Windows Media Player to rip the WMA file or files from the CD and convert them to MP3.
