The "Rock Band" series for the Wii allows gamers to use controllers shaped like instruments to play popular songs. However, these instruments, such as the "Rock Band" guitar, can only be used once they have been properly connected to the Wii using a "dongle," or wireless receiver.
Plug the "Rock Band" dongle into a USB port on the back of the Nintendo Wii.
Press and release the power button on the front of the "Rock Band" guitar. This button is round and has a small guitar image on it. Once the button is properly pressed, blue lights will come on around the power button.
Press and hold the "Sync" button on the "Rock Band" dongle.
Press and hold the "Sync" button on the "Rock Band" guitar while still pressing the "Sync" button on the dongle. After a few seconds, the guitar will wirelessly connect with the dongle and a blue light will appear on the guitar, indicating that the connection was successful.
Release the "Sync" buttons on both the "Rock Band" guitar and the dongle. The guitar can now be used to play "Rock Band" on the Wii.
