NVM is nonvolatile memory that stores the settings even after turning off power to a Xerox machine. NVM initialization or reset mode in a Xerox machine can be executed in order to clear all the settings. The initialization procedure can be performed in order to set the machine to default factory settings.
Turn on power to the Xerox machine.
Press and hold the "0" button on machine's keypad while pressing the "Start" button.
Enter the four-digit access number for the Xerox machine provided to you by the manufacturer or retailer when the LCD screen on machine prompts you to enter the "Access Number."
Select the "Initialize NVM" item from the maintenance mode menu displayed on LCD screen and press the option on the touchscreen.
Turn off power to the printer, wait for 10 seconds and then turn it back on. This will reset or initialize the NVM.
