The Xbox 360 console supports MP4, M4V, MP4V, MOV, AVI, DIVX and WMA video files. The most convenient way to download movies onto the Xbox 360 hard drive is by using Xbox Live Marketplace. Another option is to download movies onto the console hard drive with a USB flash drive. This can be performed without an Xbox Live account or console internet connection.

Insert the USB flash drive into a USB port on your computer.

Click “My Computer” in the Start menu.

Drag the movie file you want to download to your Xbox 360 hard drive onto the USB drive icon.

Right click on the USB drive icon. Click “Eject.” Remove the USB flash drive from your computer.

Insert the flash drive into the USB port on the Xbox 360 console.

Click “System Settings” under the “My Xbox” tab of the Dashboard menu.

Click “Memory” in the system settings menu.

Click the USB flash drive icon in the storage devices menu.

Click “Videos.”

Click the name of the video from the list.

Click “Copy.”

Click “Hard Drive” from the storage devices menu to download the movie to the Xbox 360 hard drive.

Tips

Some movie files still may not be compatible with the Xbox 360, even if they are of the supported file types.
