The Xbox 360 game system can connect to your wireless router network by using a USB wireless network adapter. This allows you to connect to the Xbox Live network and play online games with other players from across the world. If you are receiving an error that is due to having the same network duplicated twice on your system’s network settings, you can restore your original default network settings to clear out the duplicate and create a fresh new network setting for your system.

Turn off your Xbox 360 game system. Unplug the USB wireless network adapter.

Turn on the Xbox 360 and allow the system to load to the main menu.

Click the “My Xbox” button and choose “System Settings.”

Click the “Network Settings” option, then choose “Configure Network.”

Navigate to the “Additional Settings” tab and select “Restore to Factory Defaults.” This will delete all network settings currently stored on your system.

Choose “Yes” to confirm the restore and allow the system to make the changes.

Turn off your Xbox 360 and plug the wireless network adapter into the USB port again.

Turn on the Xbox 360 and allow the system to load to the main menu.

Click the “My Xbox” button and choose “System Settings.”

Click the “Network Settings” option, then choose “Configure Network.”

Navigate to the “Basic Settings” tab and choose “Wireless Mode.”

Choose “Scan for Networks” and allow your Xbox to scan for your network connection.

Select your network and enter the security password if your router has network security.

Click “Test Xbox LIVE Connection” and allow your Xbox to test your network connection. You should now be able to connect without errors from a duplicate network setting.
