The graphics on Microsoft's Xbox 360 are best experienced in high definition. Unfortunately, some owners can't afford a new high definition television (HDTV) and are left searching for other options. One answer is laptops with HDMI input ports.
Turn off your Xbox 360. Close down any programs on your laptop.
Insert one end of your HDMI cable in the HDMI port on the back of your Xbox 360.
Insert the opposite end of the HDMI cable into the HDMI input port on your laptop.
Turn on your Xbox 360. Your laptop should automatically sense the new input and switch over the HDMI mode.
Access your laptop's display settings if the mode switch does not occur automatically.
Access your Xbox 360's "System Settings" menu from the dashboard. Configure the display and resolution settings as desired.
Tips
You will not be able to connect your Xbox 360 to a laptop via an HDMI output port. These ports are used to connect and broadcast your laptop's screen image to an HDMI-compatible source, not the other way around.
