The ability to take a screenshot allows you to capture what is on your computer screen at any given time. This feature is built into Windows and can be used on any computer, including Compaq. All you need is a photo editing program, such as MS Paint. These screenshots can be saved to your hard drive and viewed at any time.

Click on the "PrtScn" button. On a Compaq computer, this button is on the same key as "Insert." It's a function key, which means you have to hold down the "Fn" key (located in the bottom-left corner of the keyboard) before you press it. This will assure that you are using the second function on the key, "PrtScn," rather than "Insert."

Open "MS Paint" by clicking on the "Start" menu in the bottom-left corner of the screen and typing "Paint" into the search bar.

Paste the screenshot into Paint by pressing "Control" and "V" at the same time. You can also right-click the blank Paint document and select "Paste."

Save the image by clicking "File" from the top bar and "Save" or "Save As."
