How to Add Gmail to Your iPad

Google's Gmail in a free Internet-based email or cloud service that allows you to access it from anywhere at any time via an Internet connection. The Apple iPad allows you to configure Gmail via its Mail app. With iPad mail, you have the ability to compose, read, delete and move email.

Go to Gmail (see Resources). Enter your username and Password and click "Sign In." If you do not have an Gmail account, select "Create an Account" and follow the prompts.

Click "Settings," "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" once logged into Gmail. Select "Enable IMAP." Click "Save Changes."

Turn on your iPad. Slide the arrow to the right to unlock the device.

Tap the "Settings" app on your iPad screen.

Tap "Mail," "Contacts," "Calendars." Tap "Add Account..." and tap "Gmail."

Type your Gmail full name, full Gmail address ( and password. Tap "Save."

Click the "Home" button on your iPad and tap the "Mail" app. Tap the Gmail account to view and write emails.
