The iMac is a computer manufactured by Apple and will print in the same manner as most other Apple Macintosh computers. Before you can print, however, make sure the printer is connected to the computer and it is plugged into an electrical outlet or power surge. Macs with the 10.6 operating system come pre-installed with software necessary to add a printer.
Connect the printer to the computer using a USB cable. The two machines will automatically start communicating with one another.
Open the document you want to print.
Click on the "File" menu at the top of the screen and then "Print." You should see the name of the printer listed under "Printer" in the "Print Screen." You can also press the "Command" and "P" buttons at the same time as a shortcut.
Press "Print" again or "Return" on your keypad to print the document.
