If you’re using DirecTV DVR to watch and record your favorite shows, you can transfer your saved videos to a laptop to watch two shows simultaneously or take video files on the go. It is very simple to transfer your recorded movies to the laptop. Just connect your DVR receiver to your computer’s Internet network, then download DirecTV2PC, a free application that lets you watch DVR movies on the laptop.
Connect one end of your Internet router’s Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on the router. Connect the other end to the Ethernet port on the back of the DVR.
Press “Menu” on the DirecTV remote control.
Select “Parental, FAV's & Setup.”
Select “System Setup,” then select “Network Setup.”
Select “Connect Now.”
Select “Continue,” then press “Done.”
Download and install “DirecTV2PC” playback application (see Resources). It’s a free application that allows you to transfer movies from the DVR to laptop.
Open the application after installation and follow the setup wizard’s instructions to transfer movies to the laptop.
