"Call of Duty 4" is a recent installment of the popular "Call of Duty" series published by Activision. The game is a first-person shooter that features a modern warfare setting and is the first release that steps away from the World War II focused series. In addition to the single-player campaign, the game includes online-play capabilities that add to the replay value of the title. "Call of Duty 4" features a Voice Chat system that can be used in certain servers, allowing players to communicate in real time to their teammates during the heat of battle.

Configure your "Call of Duty options" from the title screen. In the "Options" menu, make sure "Voice Chat" is enabled.

Join a server that has voice chat enabled. When you are browsing for a server to play on, make note of the icons placed beside the server name. Next to the "Type" column, there is an audio icon that symbolizes the server's Voice Chat capability. If there is an "X" in this column for the server, then the feature is enabled for that game.

Press "Z" to activate your voice chat in-game. Hold down on the "Z" key and speak into your microphone to communicate. Release the "Z" key when you are done speaking.
