How to Get the Genie Lamp in Sims 2

"The Sims 2" is an interactive computer game that allows users to create their own person called a Sim. The player guides the Sim through the normal ups and downs of life, with a few magical differences. The player can grant her Sims dozens of fortunes such as cheating death and beauty enhancement through the power of the genie. The genie will unlock when the Gypsy leaves a lamp in front of the Sims' front door.

Earning the Genie

Participate in music, sports, chess and other activities to gain at least 16 hobby points. Each hobby point requires that the Sim do one of the activities for a certain amount of time.

Wait until the beginning of each day to see if the Gypsy leaves a lamp. The more hobby points the player has the more likely she will appear.

Click the lamp and press the “Clean” option. The Sim will start cleaning the lamp and a genie will appear to grant three wishes.

Cheating for the Genie

Press the “Ctrl,” “Shift” and “C” key simultaneously.

Type “boolprop testingcheatsenabled true” (without quotes) into the cheats window and press the “Enter” key.

Click the Sims telephone and press “Call Gypsy.” The Gypsy will now arrive at your Sims house.

Press the “Shift” key and click “Spawn” on the cheats’ window. The Gypsy will place the lamp on your front door step.
