How to Reset a Roland Fantom

by Chris AnzaloneUpdated September 22, 2017

The Roland Fantom line includes a series of digital music workstations that allow you to play, edit and record original electronic music without the need for a computer, multi-track recorder or hardware sequencer. If you want to restore the default settings on your Fantom or troubleshoot a problem with the machine’s functionality, you can perform a factory reset using your Fantom menu. Note that this process will delete any recordings or presets that you have created and saved.

Resetting the Fantom X Series

Turn on your Fantom and press the “Menu” button beneath the display screen.

Click the “Utility” option on your screen. To navigate the LCD screen, use the “Cursor” arrows to the right of the screen and press the “Enter” button when you highlight your selection.

Click the “F3” button to reset your Fantom and then select the “Confirm” option.

Resetting the Fantom G Series

Turn on your Fantom and press the “Menu” button beneath the display screen.

Press the “4” button twice to access your Utility menu. It appears directly beneath your display screen.

Click the “F8” button to reset your Fantom.

Click “F7” once to confirm the change and then click it a second time to return to the main menu.

Resetting the Fantom S Series
