How to Track Registered Airmail

When shopping online, you might come across online stores originating in a different country. If you decide to order from these stores, your packages will need to be shipped via airmail. If the service was selected, airmail will have a tracking number associated with the shipment. These tracking numbers are similar to what American companies, such as UPS and FedEx, use, allowing the recipient to track the shipment's progress from its origin to its destination.
Contact the shipper to determine the location the item was mailed from. If available, the shipper will also be able to provide a tracking number you can use to locate your shipment. In order to track registered airmail, you will need to have a tracking number.
Find the website that corresponds to the country the shipment was mailed from. The "Tracking Air Mail Deliveries With Your Local Post Office" web page has a list of links to local tracking websites (see Resource). You will simply need to click on the link that corresponds with the country the shipment originated.
Enter the tracking number you were given for the shipment into the box located on a local tracking website. Once the number has correctly been entered into the box, click on the "Submit" button to track your shipment. Alternatively, you can press the "Enter" key to submit the tracking number. If information is available for your shipment, it will be displayed on the next page.
Like the United States, some countries might have multiple international shipping carriers. For example, China has both Speedpost and Hong Kong Post. When contacting the shipper for a tracking number, inquiry about the shipping method the shipper used.
