The Sony Cyber-shot line consists of digital cameras that take still photos. Photos are stored on removable SD cards and the camera is powered by a rechargeable battery. If the camera is not functioning properly, a hard reset may correct the problem by restoring the camera settings and menu options to the factory settings.

Slide the power switch to the "off" position. If your model has a push-button power switch, push it once.

Push or slide the small battery compartment release latch so that the compartment door pops open. Slide the battery out of the compartment.

Slide the power button to the "on" position for 15 seconds. For push-button models, hold down the power button for 15 seconds.

Slide the power switch to the "off" position or let go of the power button.

Insert the battery and close the compartment door. Turn the camera back on.

Disconnect the charger cable before removing the battery. Verify that the camera lenses is moved back into the closed position before removing the battery.
