ANSI is the American National Standard Institute and ETSI is the European Telecommunications Standards Institute.
About ANSI
ANSI manages the creation, communication, and use of standards that apply to a wide range of businesses in the United States.
ANSI Business Sectors
Examples of business sectors for which there are ANSI standards include power tools, funiculars, radioactive materials, sanitation, and material safety data sheets.
About ETSI
By contrast, ETSI only produces standards for the information and communication technologies sector. ETSI standards include fixed, mobile, radio, converged, broadcast, and Internet technologies. ETSI standards can be applied worldwide.
ANSI eStandards Store
In addition to purchasing ANSI standards at the ANSI eStandards Store, it is also possible to purchase standards from many other organizations from all over the world, including the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), Compressed Gas Association (CGA), ETSI, Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS), Robotic Industries Association (RIA) and Swedish Standards Institute (SIS). You can see a complete list of standards developers whose standards you can purchase from the ANSI eStandards Store at http://webstore.ansi.org/sdo.aspx.
