Items you will need

  • Sony PS2 with hard drive installed

  • HDLoader disk

The Sony PlayStation 2 (PS2) is a second generation gaming console from Sony. It plays next-gen games with superior graphics and audio. The PS2 is one of the first consoles to offer a hard drive, and when installed, it opens a whole new world of gaming. You can save entire games onto the PS2 hard drive and play them without the disk. They are stored on the drive as an ISO file. This, of course, opens up piracy issues so only copy your legally purchased games onto your hard drive.

Turn on your Sony PS2 and place the HDLoader disk into your PS2 and it will play automatically. Because the disk is pressed like a real PS2 game disk, the PS2 will read it as a genuine PS2 game.

Select "Install" from the right menu and you will be asked to remove the HDLoader disk and replace it with your PS2 game disk. Do this and close the drive.

Wait as your game is automatically installed onto the PS2 hard drive in ISO format. When the process is complete you will be presented with the HDLoader main menu.

Remove the game disk and place the HDLoader disk back into the drive. Select "Play" and select your game from the newly populated list of games installed. Your game will begin to play.
