\"Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas,\" part of the hugely successful \"Grand Theft Auto\" video game series, introduces players to a sprawling, Los Angeles-like dystopia called San Andreas. The game was made for consoles, but inventive amateur programmers (or modders) have created an altered patch that allows players to take their game online and into a thriving multi-player community.
Download the SA-MP (San Andreas Multi-Player) client from the site in the Resources section. Double-click the file to install.
Enter the program directory for \"Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas\" into the \"Destination Folder\" box. By default, this directory is \"C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas.\" Press \"Install.\"
Double-click the \"San Andreas Multi-Player\" icon that the program places on your desktop. Enter a player name in the \"Name\" field at the top of the window.
Click the \"Internet\" tab at the bottom of the window to open a list of servers. For your first game, right-click on a server whose \"Mode\" setting is listed as \"Free Mode.\"
Use the left and right arrows to choose a player skin, then press \"Shift\" to start play.
Play the game as you would play the single-player version. However, your mission is now determined by the game mode you are playing within and the goals of your fellow players. Press \"F7\" to open a chat box. Use the chat box to contact other players to discover the goals of your current game session, or roam free and find your own way.
