Emerson creates a wide range of electronics, including televisions. If you have an Emerson television you most likely want to connect it to your cable source. Depending on the cable source you have, the connection is going to differ slightly, with the cables and connection ports changing. However, the process of connecting the cable to the Emerson TV is the same.
Determine if you are obtaining high-definition cable or standard-definition television. If you are using an HD receiver, you want to use an HDMI cable to connect the TV with the cable. However, if you are using a standard definition receiver, you want to use RCA cables.
Plug the HDMI cable into the HDMI port of the HD cable receiver. If using an SD receiver plug the RCA cables into the "Video Out" ports on the back of the receiver.
Connect the other end of the HDMI cable into the HDMI port on the Emerson television. If using RCA cables plug the tree cables into the "Video In" ports on the television. Make sure the RCA cable colors match the colors of the ports.
Power on the television and the cable receiver. Press the "Input" button and select either "HDMI" or "Video" as your input setting, depending on what cable connection you used.
