WebEx is a software program that is used for collaborative meetings over the internet. Multiple participants can see what the leader of the meeting is displaying on their computer screen and can talk to each other using their computer or phone line. If you are part of a WebEx meeting and need to mute yourself either in the software or on the phone, you can do so with just a few clicks.
Mute your computer by selecting your name from the panel labeled "Participants" and clicking the "Mute" button on the bottom portion of the panel. While the telephone symbol with a red "x" next to it is displayed, your line is muted and no other participants can hear you.
Mute your phone by pressing the *6 button on your telephone. You will hear an audio prompt confirming that your line has been muted.
Unmute yourself on the computer by selecting your name from the list of participants and selecting the "UnMute" button. You can also press *6 on your telephone to unmute yourself, and you will hear an audio prompt confirming this.
