How to Use Bluetooth for Xbox

Both the Xbox 360 and Xbox 360 are compatible with wireless Bluetooth headsets. Setting up your system to connect to your Bluetooth headset is simple. These directions are for the Xbox 360 and Xbox 360 Slim and not their successor, the Xbox One.
Preparation
Make sure your Bluetooth headset is fully charged before beginning, and connect your Xbox system to Xbox Live with the most up-to-date software. If your system is not already connected to Xbox Live, all you need is an Internet connection on your Xbox. Once you are connected to the Internet, go to the Settings section of your main menu and select System Settings. From there, go to Network Settings and select your Internet connection, either wired or the name of your wireless. Select Test Xbox Live Connection and you should be prompted to update your software if it is not already updated.
Connecting the Device
After you have charged your Bluetooth headset, it may be paired with your Xbox automatically if you charged it by plugging it into your system while the system was on. If not, make sure your headset is set to Xbox mode and press and hold the power button until the light turns green. After your headset makes the startup sound, press and hold the headset’s connect button for a few seconds. Release the button on your headset and quickly press the connect button on the front of your Xbox system. The lights on your headset will flash green three times once it has connected to your console. The headset should now automatically connect to your console whenever it is in Xbox mode.
Wearing and Using the Device
Your headset should now automatically connect to your console when in Xbox mode. It has a range of 30 feet from your system as long as there are no obstacles in the way. There are volume controls and a mute button on your Bluetooth headset. To turn your device off, you must press and hold the power button on your headset. Turning off your console does not affect your headset. To answer a non-Xbox call while using your headset, switching the device from Xbox to Bluetooth mode will automatically answer the incoming call. To end or reject a phone call, you must press and hold the main Action button. Switching to Xbox mode won’t end the call.
Troubleshooting
For extra help and troubleshooting with your Xbox Bluetooth headset, see the official Xbox website instructions in the Resources section.
