Items you will need

  • Laptop with USB port

  • Wii to USB adapter

The Nintendo Wii uses a proprietary cable for connections to a television or monitor with standard RCA audio/video cables. While the cables are standard for most consumer electronic devices, a different connection is needed to attach the Wii to a laptop. Adapters are available for converting the Wii's signal to a USB 2.0 port.

Disconnect the AV cable from the back of the Wii console.

Attach the Wii plug on one end of the adapter to the back of the Wii.

Insert the USB plug on the other end of the adapter cable into a free port on the laptop.

Turn on the computer and the Wii, then double-click the drive listed for the adapter connection. Click the "Start" button, choose "My Computer" and click the drive.

Tips

In Step 4, the drive will appear as an icon on the desktop for Apple computers.
