How to Delete a Single Text on an iPhoneby Mario CalhounUpdated September 28, 2017
As you continue to send and receive text messages on your iPhone, your conversation thread from each person increases. To save space and keep your conversation threads short, you can remove single text messages from the conversation by editing the thread on your iPhone. Be sure you wish to remove the message, as you cannot recover it once it has been deleted.
Press the "Home" button on your device, and slide your finger against the bottom of the screen to unlock it.
Tap the "Messages" icon to run the SMS application, and tap the text conversation you wish to edit.
Tap the "Edit" button in the upper-right corner, and tap the circle next to the single text message you wish to remove.
Tap the "Delete (1)" button at the bottom of the screen. Press the "Home" button to return to the main menu.
These instructions apply to iPhones with OS 3.0 or later.
