Xbox 360 consoles provide wireless connectivity for controllers and other devices associated with your game play experience. However, you must program your wireless Xbox 360 controller before you can enjoy cordless gaming. Programming your Xbox 360 controller to synchronize with your Xbox 360 console only requires pushing a few buttons before you are ready to go.
Turn on your Xbox 360 console.
Make sure there is at least one free controller port. This is indicated by quadrants on the wireless Xbox 360 controller’s Ring of Light. You can connect if there is at least one quadrant on the Ring of Light that does not illuminate.
Press and hold down the Guide button on your wireless Xbox 360 controller. The Guide button is the spherical button in the center of the Ring of Light. This turns on the device’s power.
Press and release the connect button on your Xbox 360 console. This establishes a signal for your wireless Xbox 360 to receive.
Press and release the connect button on the wireless Xbox 360 controller. This allows your wireless Xbox 360 controller to receive the console’s connectivity signal.
Wait for the Ring of Light on both the console and controller to illuminate and rotate once. This indicates that the wireless Xbox 360 controller has programmed to your console successfully. The quadrant on your controller’s Ring of Light that remains illuminated is its port position.
