If you have ever wondered about the Firmware version installed on your Nintendo Wii system, you can figure it out almost effortlessly with a few simple clicks. Firmware is the system software your Wii uses for upgrading features and optimizing the performance of your system. Some games include automatic software updates, and many gamers have no idea what software version currently resides in their Wii.

Start up your Wii and click the “Wii Options” button. You will see it as a circular button in the bottom left corner of the screen.

From the Options screen, select the “Wii Settings” button. It includes a picture of a wrench.

Look for the version number indicated at the top right corner of the Settings screen. It should say, for example, “Ver. 3.3.” This is your system software version.
