Items you will need
Creating a bootable disc for your Sony Playstation2 is now a little easier with Sony drawing its attention away from the PS2 and toward the security of the Playstation3. The boot disc will allow you to run independent programs on the Playstation2 among many other features. Once you have the bootable files to create the boot disc, all you need to do is place them onto a blank disc and run it with your PS2.
Download the two programs from the resource section of this guide. The first program is called “Utorrent” and will allow you to download the boot files that need to be placed onto a blank disc. The second program is called “ImgBurn” and this will allow you to properly burn the files onto a blank disc to be used in the Sony PS2.
Click the last resource file and Utorrent will start to download the boot files that will be burnt to the blank disc. Wait as the files are downloaded. The download will not take very long because the boot files are so small. The speed of the download will also depend on the speed of your Internet connection.
Insert your blank disc into your computer’s optical drive and open ImgBurn. Click “Write image file to disc” and drag the downloaded boot files into the ImgBurn program menu. The files will automatically be added to the ImgBurn program and will be ready to burn onto disc. Click the large green arrow at the bottom of the ImgBurn home menu and the files will be burnt to the blank disc. When the process is finished, ImgBurn will notify you. Your boot disc can now be used in your Sony PS2.
