How to Get the Microsoft Windows Game "Freecell"by Shea LavertyUpdated September 22, 2017
Microsoft broke with tradition by not including a no-cost "FreeCell" game with Windows 8, but that doesn't mean the game isn't available. The Windows App Store has many "FreeCell" game apps to make up for this, most of which are free of charge. With a quick download, you can be back to playing "FreeCell" in no time.
FreeCell Windows 8 Apps
There are at least nine no-cost "FreeCell" apps in the Windows App Store, as well as at least one that requires a small purchase fee. Most, like "Free - FreeCell" and "FreeCell Solitaire Game Deluxe," recreate the feel of the original "FreeCell" game with minor variations in the play surface, while others, like "FreeCell Solitaire HD" and "AE FreeCell Solitaire," change the general layout but retain the basic gameplay. Once you've found one you like, you can click or tap "Install" to install the app if it's free, or "Buy" to purchase and install a paid app.
