Items you will need
Word-processing software (such as Microsoft Works or Word)
Be ready to offer an award for any occasion. Create your own certificates worthy of any accomplishment using a home computer and printer. Start with simple templates and then customize the certificates with photos, names, dates and achievement information. Make award certificates for endeavors in sports, music or even educational feats.
Open the word-processing software on your computer. Click "File" and then "New" to open the template options.
Select “Certificates” from the menu that pops up in a new page. Choose the template design you like best or pick a blank template. Double-click the design to open it in a new page.
Double-click on each word or phrase to alter it to the text you need. Change the font style, size and color in the toolbar at the top of the page.
Click in the area where you would like to insert your photo. Go to "Insert," then "Picture" and select the file containing your photograph. Choose the correct photo from the file and then click “OK” to insert the picture onto the certificate document.
Right-click on the photo and select “Format Object”. Click “Size” in the tabs at the top of the popup menu and change the size of the photo to fit the certificate.
Go to "File," select "Print" and choose your printing options. Then click “OK” to print the certificate.
