Design your own flier for a party, business advertising or a yard sale using your computer and printer. Quickly make your document eye-catching, effective and professional without spending a dime by using appropriate fonts, colors and graphics and adding borders around the entire page or to certain areas you wish to highlight.
Open a new document in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Works or another word processor of your choice. Set the page size to 8.5 inches by 11 inches.
Type the information for the flier in the document. Choose a new font, style or size for the words by altering the formatting options, usually found in the toolbar at the top of the page.
Add clip art or photographs to the flier by selecting “Insert,” “Picture” and selecting the correct file or clip art.
Go to “Format” and click on “Borders and Shading.” Click the tiny arrow under “Apply to” and select “Page” to place the border around the whole page. Select “Paragraph” if you would rather the border be around certain words or images.
Choose a border art from the options available and then select the width you would like for the design. Click “OK” to apply the border to the page.
Place paper in to the printer as suggested and then follow the on-screen directions to print your flier.
