Since the release of Internet Explorer 1.0 in 1995, Microsoft has regularly released updated and improved versions of the popular Web browser. It just takes a few clicks of the mouse to make sure you have the most recent version of Internet Explorer available. If you don’t, Microsoft makes it simple to upgrade your browser on the Internet Explorer website.
Open Internet Explorer.
Click “Help” at the top of the page.
Click “About Internet Explorer.”
Note which version of Internet Explorer you are currently using. The box will say “Internet Explorer” followed by a number.
Go to Microsoft.com, and place your cursor over “All Products” on the top menu bar.
Click “Internet Explorer,” which is located under the “Most Popular” heading. This will take you to the home page for the most current version of Internet Explorer available for download. If the version number is higher than the one you are currently using, you do not have the most recent version.
Follow the instructions on the page to download the more recent version of Internet Explorer if you choose to do so.
To get more information about the newest version of Internet Explorer, or to get help downloading it, place your mouse over “Help and How-to” at the top of the page, and click “Internet Explorer.”
