The Sony Bravia is an industry-leading LCD high-definition television. Although there are several minor product lines under the Bravia brand, most of the televisions share the same features. Most people have some sort of HD receiver connected to the device from a cable or satellite provider, but your local channels might not be included. In that case, you need to connect an HD antenna to receive local channels over the air. HD antennas can be installed on the exterior of your home, but there is no signal gain with these devices over indoor units, and the rooftop antennas can be an eyesore to look at, not to mention be tough to install.

Plug the antenna into a wall outlet near the television. Most HD antennas are powered to increase the signal strength.

Connect the HDMI cable into the HDMI port on the back of the HD antenna. If you are using an SD antenna you do not need to connect anything to it.

Insert the other end of the HDMI cable into an available HDMI port on the Sony Bravia HDTV. If you are using an SD antenna, connect the coaxial cable running from the back of the antenna into the "In" port on the back of the TV set.

Power on the Sony Bravia HDTV. Press the "HDMI" button on the TV's remote control. You may need to press this several times until the content captured by the antenna is displayed on the screen. If you are using an SD antenna, you can simply change the channel using the channel up or down button on the TV or the remote.
