An Xbox video game console allows you to experience a variety of games and join an online community. In order to use an Xbox, you must have it connected to your television. If your television does not have the correct inputs and you have DirecTV, you can use the satellite box to connect the Xbox to the TV.
Connect Xbox
Turn off the television, the Xbox and the DirecTV box.
Turn the equipment around so you have access to all the ports on the TV, Xbox, and DirecTV box.
Connect the Xbox power cable to the back of the Xbox.
Insert the plug into an electrical wall socket.
Connect the video cable to the back of the Xbox.
Locate an available “Video In” port on the back of the DirecTV box. There should be three open ports (red, white and yellow).
Insert the red, yellow and white Xbox cables into the “Video In” port in to the DirecTV box.
Connect the audio/video cables to the “Video Out” port on the DirecTV box.
Locate a “Video In” port on the back of the television. This would be “Video 2.”
Connect the cable from the “Video Out” port on the DirecTV to the “Video In” port on the television.
Turn on the television and select the video port that you connected the DirecTV cable to (such as "Video 2").
Turn on the DirecTV box.
Make sure that video appears on the television normally.
Press the green “Power” button on the Xbox.
Make sure that the TV now shows video coming from the Xbox. You may have to set the channel to 3 or 4.
