How Do I Make AOL.com my Home Page?

You can make AOL.com your default home page from the AOL website or from your account, if you have one. Alternatively, change settings in your browser. Keep in mind that browsers may display home pages differently when you're using tabs. For example, Internet Explorer opens your home page when you open new tab pages. Firefox and Chrome may not automatically do this, so you may need to manually open your home page in new tabs by selecting the browser's home or start page icon.

Use AOL.com Settings

Open "AOL.com," locate the "Make AOL my homepage" banner and select it. Follow instructions and confirmation prompts to set the site as your home page. In Internet Explorer and Chrome, you add a shortcut to AOL that changes your default home page settings; Firefox also allows you to change your home page by dragging the AOL logo to your home page icon. Alternatively, you can also start the process from an AOL account by hovering your mouse over your username and selecting "Set AOL as homepage."

Change Your Home Page in Browsers

In Internet Explorer, set your home page via Internet Options in the Tools menu; these options feature a Home section where you can just enter "aol.com." In Firefox, change your home page settings in "Options" in the Open menu tool, the icon with three horizontal lines. Enter "aol.com" into the home page field; you can also choose whether to have Firefox open AOL.com at startup here. For Chrome, select "Customize and control Google Chrome" -- the icon with three horizontal lines -- and use the Settings menu to make changes. You can direct Chrome to show AOL.com when it opens and set it as your home page.
