If you are away from home with only your laptop, if may be frustrating to miss your favorite TV shows. NBC.com hosts episodes from shows past and present, and accessing them is quick and free. Note that there may be a lag of a few hours or a full day from the time new episodes air to when they're posted on the site.
Make sure that you have the latest version of Adobe Flash installed, and that you have Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher or Mozilla Firefox 2.0 or higher installed on your system. You also need a broadband or high-speed connection.
Go to NBC.com. Click on the “Watch Video” tab. From the list of available shows, select the one you want to watch.
Click on an available season under “Full Episodes.” Then select an episode from that season you want to view. The player will begin playing the episode. Of course, you'll have to view some commercials, though far fewer of them than if you were watching the episode on TV.
If playback is slow or jerky, close any other applications you have running and make sure anti-virus software isn't preventing the download.
If you are traveling internationally, you won't be able to use the service—streaming episodes only play in the United States.
