How to Block My Cellphone Numberby ContributorUpdated September 28, 2017
Sometimes you want to make a call anonymously without your number popping up on the recipient's phone display. You have a few options for making phone calls without revealing your identity to the recipient.
Dial "*67" before dialing a phone number. The easiest way to block your number is to do it before you make the call. This will make your number appear as "Private" on the call recipient's end.
Most phone manufacturers have an area in the settings/options that allow you to turn off caller ID. Each phone is different, but check the call options. They usually include an optional setting for letting you hide your number before making the call. If you can't find such an option on your phone after consulting your manual, call your phone service provide and ask tech support for help finding it, if it exists on your phone.
Call your service provider. Ask them to permanently disable the caller ID function. This is the best option for you if you want your number never to show when calling out.
Your number will not be blocked from emergency calls.
