The popular Rock Band video game, with its focus on cooperative play, seems a perfect fit for the Wii and its audience of casual gamers. The process required to install the game, however, may initially confuse some owners. This guide will walk you through the setup process and have you rocking out in no time.
Assemble the guitar and drum set following the instructions that came with the game. Turn the switch on the back of the guitar to “ON.”
Plug the USB hub into one of the two USB ports on the back of the Wii.
Plug the microphone, drum set and wireless guitar dongle into the USB hub.
Turn on the system and insert the Rock Band disc. Select the “Rock Band” screen with the Wii remote. The game will perform a system update.
Press the small button located on the wireless guitar dongle. The blue light on the dongle will begin flashing. Press the blue Wii button on the body of the guitar and then press the small white button next to it. This will connect the guitar to the dongle.
Select the Calibrate option in the game menu. Follow the on-screen instructions to calibrate the game to your audio and visual setup.
Tips
When playing with the microphone, you must use the Wii remote to make menu selections. You can tweak the calibration settings in the menu if the audio/visual synchronization seems off.
